Daily update 13th July 2020 – I hope you had an enjoyable weekend.  This is our final full week of the academic year and it will be a busy one.  Whilst remote learning and face to face support continues, we are finalising our plans for results days and, most importantly, for September.  Information with be sent to parents in the next couple of days.

Students/Family members in vulnerable categories

In addition to general anxieties about the return to school, we are aware that a number of families may have been shielding since March because a family member has been classed as extremely clinically vulnerable. Whilst the government advice is that those people no longer need to shield from the 1st August, we are mindful that these families may require additional reassurance as regards our arrangements for September or want to share specific information with us. If your family is in this situation, can you please let us know by replying to this email so that we can make direct contact with you prior to your child’s return on 3rd September.

Year 9 & 10 quizzes

Thank you to everyone who encouraged students to complete the quizzes last week.  This has already given us highly valuable information to inform planning for gaps in knowledge in September.  We appreciate that there were a few technical difficulties with this last week so if your son/daughter has not completed all of their quizzes this needs to be their learning priority this week, completing them by Wednesday please.  Any concerns or further issues, please ask them to contact their teacher directly through Teams.

Friday’s quiz

Helen sends her apologies for sending the wrong quiz code for Friday.  She did email me on Friday evening but unfortunately I didn’t pick it up until after quiz time.  She and Robert have done a tremendous job on the quiz during lockdown and we really appreciate their efforts.  Thank you ?

Take care everyone.

With very best wishes,
