Independent learning is extremely important in preparing students effectively for their next lesson or reinforcing their prior learning. The Academy’s expectations are that independent learning is set regularly by the teacher in every subject and recorded by the student in their learning diary and completed by them on time. Independent learning will not always require formal feedback from the teacher but will often feed into the learning within the next lesson or be tested via more informal methods (e.g. quizzing, comprehension testing).
