Daily update 11th June 2020 – Remote learning
We are constantly learning about the new technologies that we have been using since lockdown began and yesterday a parent wrote to me to draw something to my attention about the feedback that teachers are giving through teams that we didn’t know and I wanted to share it with you. Some students think that their work isn’t being marked as some teachers have been marking it and giving feedback but we had not realised that this has to be returned each time to the student. Some teachers have thought that this feedback has automatically gone to the student but this appears not to have been the case. As we can’t see what the students see we had not picked this up. I have passed this on to the teachers and we will ensure that we update our training for teachers on this aspect and can only apologise for this oversight. The teachers have been working incredibly hard to give lots of feedback to students so it is a huge shame that some students have not seen the feedback they have been given. If the student clicks onto the work assignments they have completed in every team, they will see how the work has been marked and any comments that have been made. We will be sharing this with students as well today.

Art Competition
The winner of last week’s competition on the theme of ‘How I see tomorrow’ is Jess in Year 9 who has visually demonstrated a powerful message by illustrating the importance of us remaining alert to ensure a safer, cleaner environment not just for tomorrow but for the future. Well done! This week’s competition involves you getting creative and illustrative by designing what Covid 19 would look like if it was a monster. Please send your entries through to melanie.hibbs@nkacademy.co.uk by Wednesday 17th June.

Take care everyone!

With very best wishes,
