Daily update 10th June 2020 – Thank you to those parents who wrote to us yesterday with some really positive messages.  I shared these with staff, who I know were very grateful for your positive comments.  Everyone here has been working incredibly hard in very difficult circumstances to do the best for your children at this time.  It is fair to say that no one has ever been in this situation before and we are all doing our best to get things right.  The pace at which we are having to make big decisions, embrace and use the technologies, adapt our communication methods and adapt our teaching and learning methods is unprecedented.  I am really proud of everyone within the NK team for the way they have approached this from the outset.

We will move into a new phase from next week, with some Year 10 and 12 students returning for a day in phase 1 to access face to face support from some of their teachers.  This has truly been a mammoth task in an incredibly short space of time.  Our priority has been the safety of everyone from the outset and everything else has had to fall into place from that perspective.  Yesterday I started to look at the online version of face to face support and the planning of that will continue over the next couple of days.  Again, we are trying our best to get things right having never had to do this before and we will learn through this process and make each phase a better version than the last from what we have learned.  Your input into that is invaluable so we always read or listen to your feedback in our planning of each phase.

For those students who we won’t be able to welcome back until at least September, we are still here and making improvements all the time to our remote learning offer.  Again, we are listening to the feedback from you, the students and our staff and are always learning about new ways of doing this well.  For Year 11 and Year 13, we are still here!  If you need help or want to talk to someone, please let us know.

Take care everyone.

With very best wishes,
