Daily update 2nd April 2020 – Thank you for all of your kind and positive messages. I am sending these through to staff so that they can see the overwhelming support we have from our parents.

End of term
Today is officially the last day of term 4, strange as that seems in the circumstances. We will remain open during the Easter holidays for those children who are vulnerable and for the children of the keyworkers who need that provision. We will, therefore, still be checking phone messages and emails so, if you need us, please do get in contact at enquiries@nkacademy.co.uk or 01522 881010.

Teachers will not be setting work over the Easter holidays but remember that there are challenge tasks to complete to keep them busy and to entertain them in the next couple of weeks.

Year 12
The Year 12 data will be coming out to the students and to you today.

Year 11 and 13
There is no further update from Ofqual and the exam boards yet for Years 11 and 13. I will write separately to students and parents of Year 11 and 13 when that information comes through.

Quiz – Friday 3rd April 7pm
One of our parents has written to me to offer to run a regular virtual quiz for all families and staff to take part in. They have organised several quizzes for the school in the past and also write regular pub and charity quizzes. The quizzes are aimed at families with children of all ages and include some fun picture rounds. The first quiz will take place this Friday 3rd April at 7pm in your own home. Just click on the following link https://myquiz.org/ and put in the code 077829 to join the quiz. You will need to pick a username and then you are ready to take part. It is a multiple choice quiz, all the instructions are given on the page when you have joined the quiz. If this quiz is successful they would like to run the quiz as a regular event whilst we go through this difficult time. There will be a weekly winner and a league table where there will be overall winners. If you have any problems logging in or have any questions then please contact helen.gordon26@outlook.com. The winner of the quiz can also contact them via this email to arrange their prize which will be an Amazon voucher emailed to them.

I will continue to do these updates throughout the holiday. I’m going to do another video message tomorrow morning, so look out for that!

I know this wasn’t the holiday that we were all expecting but that doesn’t mean we can’t all have a bit of fun. Stay safe everyone.

With very best wishes,
