Daily update 2nd July 2020 – Good morning everyone.  We are expecting an announcement from the government today which we are hoping includes guidance and information about results days and, most importantly, September.

Years 11 & 13

It has been announced this week that a full Autumn exam series will take place but there are few further details about what this will look like.  We are told that any student who would like to improve their grades will have an opportunity to take the full suite of GCSE, AS and A-level exams in the autumn.  They would be awarded the higher of the centre-assessed and exam grade.  When we have more detail about this we will let students and parents know.

Years 9 & 10

Information will come through to students and parents later today about remote learning next week.  Mr Sandbrook has done a video for students and for parents to explain what will be happening next week and the rationale for that.

Years 10 and 12 – Students in school

If your son/daughter has been offered a place in school on a specific day and they are not able to attend it is important that you let us know by phoning school in the morning in the normal way to report an absence please.  If you no longer wish to access the place that has been offered please let us know so that we can offer further support to another student.  We are only able to offer places for 25% of Year 10 and 12 students on any one day and are currently at this capacity, which we are very pleased about.  We do have parents wishing to access more face to face support for their son/daughter, so please let us know if, for any reason, your situation has changed.

Virtual School Games

I am really pleased to inform you that Anais in Year 9 won a Bronze medal for her entry for Beachball Blast- Boccia.  Well done Anais!

Take care everyone.

With very best wishes,
