Daily update 29th May 2020 – Good morning everyone. Many of you will have seen the announcement from the Prime Minister yesterday evening about the five key tests being met which means that lockdown has been eased a little more from Monday. Whilst there are still many necessary restrictions in place it will undoubtedly allow many of us to see friends and family, at a distance, and for some more people to return to work.

It allows us to continue with our planning today, and over the next week, for our face to face offer of support for Year 10 and 12. The majority of our provision for all year groups will continue to be through remote learning. To be clear, the face to face provision will not mean a return in full for these year groups. The guidance states that we are able to have no more than 25% of Year 10 or Year 12 on site at any one time and we will be starting small and slowly in order to get it right and ensure everyone’s safety, which continues to be the first priority in any planning that we do. It is my intention to send out a skeleton of the plan on Monday to the parents of students in Years 10 and 12 only along with a very short survey to gather your thoughts quickly. I will also be sending this to academy staff and governors on Monday for their input too.

If your son/daughter does any of the challenge tasks or anything else that is different, creative, or helps someone in the community, please do let us know and send us a picture if you can. We’d love to be able to share some positive activities to help motivate and inspire others.
