Daily update 29th April 2020 – Home Learning

We hope you have found the tweaks we have made to home learning helpful.  It is quite difficult to get it right for everyone.  Please remember that there are challenge tasks available for those students who are completing work quickly.  We are working on some more extension materials, which will be available shortly.  If your son/daughter is struggling with deadlines, please ask them to contact the teacher via the chat facility on teams.

Students in Years, 11, 12 and 13 will not be able to follow the same subject pattern as Years 7 to 10.  Students in Year 11 and 13 have a bespoke package depending on their future aspirations as previously communicated.  Year 12 students study 3 subjects so will have work each week for all 3 subjects.  Any issues with this should be communicated via teams by the students to the teacher in the first instance wherever possible.

Art & Photography competition

Ms Hibbs has been really impressed with the overwhelming entries received by talented students from a range of year groups for the initial weekly Art competition. It has been difficult to choose a winner so we are delighted to announce that we have two winners for this challenge.

This week the competition is called What I Can See, designed to help us all think about things in our homes, gardens, skies, views, and even in our imaginations and thoughts. So what might this mean to you? Your art submission could be a poem, still life response, a painting in the garden, portrait, photo, digital drawing or video, a mud sculpture, a pen drawing … there is no restriction or limit here. What I Can See is a way of sharing and communicating your ideas and energies to others at a time when it is needed the most. Submit your entries to Ms Hibbs at melanie.hibbs@nkacademy.co.uk by next Wednesday.
