Daily update 14th April 2020 – Good morning everyone.  I hope that you are all well and had a relaxing Easter weekend.

Supporting the NHS with PPE

Mr Smith is coming out of retirement this week to work with Ms Bensaih to produce visors for those in need of PPE on the frontline of the NHS.  Mrs Allen is also looking into being able to provide the gowns needed too and is currently assembling a team for this.  In order to fund this we have set up a fundraising page and we are halfway to our target of £1000.  If you would like to donate to this worthy cause then please follow the link below.

What has your son/daughter been doing that they or you are proud of?

Thank you to those parents who have sent in information and/or pictures to let us know what your son/daughter has been doing that has helped you or the community.  We will be sharing some of these on facebook this week.  Please keep sharing what they have been doing and how they are spending their time whilst at home as we would like to share these to give everyone more ideas.  One family told us that they have been playing hide and seek in their house and garden, something which they hadn’t done for years, but they found lots of places to hide!

Video yesterday

Yesterday’s update was a video that was posted on the website and on facebook.  The students and staff who were in school yesterday made a rainbow and ‘thank you’ sign to say ‘thank you’ to all the keyworkers for doing a tremendous job in the current circumstances.  You can see it in the top window as you go past the academy on Newark Road.

Take care everyone.

With very best wishes
