Daily update 6th May 2020 – Year 11
Those Year 11 students who are returning to us in our 6th form have started their studies with bridging work. Could parents please remind their son/daughter to reply to the email they received from Miss Warburton to confirm their places? Thank you.

Art Competition

Ms Hibbs thanks everyone for their competition entries this week on the theme of ‘What Can I See’. She was particularly impressed with two entries including illustrations drawn by Leah in year 10 inspired by a fictional book she is writing which we are looking forward to reading. She was also pleased to see the teamwork demonstrated from Anais, Robin and the Markland family when creating homemade bunting to celebrate VE day. The bunting was accompanied by the following caption ‘Teamwork and peace and hope brings happiness’ which is very true. It is such a pleasure to see families and communities working so closely together during such unprecedented times.

Next week’s competition will be titled ‘Looking through the Keyhole’ it requires students to think about what they would like to see if they looked through a keyhole. Students are required to create a piece of artwork including a keyhole which shows creativity. It can be somewhere surreal, magical, scary or realistic. Please see the example below. Entries should be sent to melanie.hibbs@nkacademy.co.uk by Tuesday 12th May at 4pm.

#CovidTeenHeroes

Rylee in Year 8 has been helping his great gran while she is in lock down. He cuts the grass and helps with anything else she wants doing in the garden. Well done Rylee!

Take care everyone.

With very best wishes,
