Thursday 8th February saw the fantastic return of the Primary Schools’ Dance Festival to North Kesteven Academy. The festival, organised by NK Academy in conjunction with ArtsNK and the University of Lincoln, offers primary school staff and students an incredible opportunity – to work with a professional dance choreographer and to perform on a professional stage in front of a paying audience.
The event was a huge success and the participants were incredible – the amount of work and effort each and every primary school pupil put into their dance was clear from the start, and the audience were bowled away at the standard of the performances.
Both the primary school pupils and the evening audiences were also treated to performances by students from the Academy – our winners of Retro Dance Fever 2017, and an A-level dance trio who performed a piece they have worked on throughout this term.
As well as being here to dance, the primary pupils experienced a ‘real-life’ North Kesteven Academy lesson in which they did a variety of excellent activities – they all went down a real treat.
Throughout the year we work closely with our feeder primary schools on events like this. You can find out more about us and what we do by visiting www.nkacademy.co.uk or by following us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to keep up to date with all the news and events.
The next dance festival will be in summer this year and we are looking forward to it already.
