Slam Jam Final

On Thursday 22nd June our champion poets (Ella Moir, Joseph Payne and Molly Inkpin) attended the Final of this year’s Slam Jam 2017 competition at the Lincoln Drill Hall. Although we did not emerge as overall winners our students delivered powerful and highly accomplished performances.

Lincolnshire Schools Golf Sixes Competition

This year the school has been able to run an after school golf club at The Lincoln Golf Centre at Thorpe on the Hill as a result of funding from the Golf Foundation. Part of the funding included some free golf equipment for the school.

Junior Maths Challenge Success 2017

Pupils at North Kesteven School achieved highly in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Over 250,000 pupils form across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge with roughly the top 6% receiving a gold certificate, the next 13 % silver and the next 21% bronze.

Breast Cancer Now – Year 7 Pink Day

Today year 7 students supported our N.K parents, Mr and Mrs Hatzel, who will be cycling from London to Paris this summer in aid of Breast Cancer Now. N.K. was awash with pink from nails to lipstick, socks to hairbows. It brightened up our day and for such a good cause.

Pop Up Restaurant

This is an exciting opportunity for Year 10 GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition students to showcase their skills via a pop Up Restaurant at North Kesteven School on 7th July 2017. This will be run by former NK student Danny Gill, owner of Browns Pie shop and a finalist in BBC’s ‘Great British Menu’, and Kimberley Allen.
