Students and staff here at the academy are celebrating being recognised for promoting careers in medicine following the November medical event organised by North Kesteven Academy, the University of Leicester, the University of Nottingham and the Medical Schools Council. This innovative event gave students from Years 10-13 the opportunity to find out more information about a career in medicine including practical skills and information about a real day in the life of a medical student.
Headteacher Neil Wilkinson-McKie said “We were nominated for an innovation award and came in the top four, which is a huge achievement. It’s recognition of the innovation that has gone on at NK Academy for the benefit of young people and to support the region’s crisis in healthcare workforce.”
Thank you to all those who took part and those who organised the event. If this is something you may be interested in, please check the academy’s website and Facebook/Twitter to hear about more events in the future.
