Think Creativity, Think Retro-Dance Fever!
The 14th November saw the return of the annual spectacular that is Retro Dance Fever – it was a truly amazing night. The Year Seven students (and their form tutors & support staff) dressed up, learnt a dance from a specific era and competed to see which dance class performed best on the night. As well as each dance class, even the staff learnt and performed a routine with 6th Form dancers to N-Sync’s Pop much to the students’ delight.
Retro Dance Fever is successful for many reasons: not only for raising money for the wonderful Children in Need, but also for boosting the confidence and creativity of our Year Seven students. Retro really helps to take them out of their comfort zone which has a beneficial effect in all areas of study, students learn increased resilience and perseverance, even when tasks challenge them.
This fantastic event has raised a great amount of money for Children in Need and we are now in the process of collecting in all sponsorship money. The final total raised will be revealed soon…
