Paralympian Marc Woods inspires Y11
This week, students from Year 11 were treated to a visit from an external speaker on Monday morning. Former Paralympic swimmer Marc Woods came in to talk to our Year 11 students about his journey through life and how he became a gold winning Paralympic swimmer despite having a below-the-knee amputation as a teenager. Marc’s visit was organised for this week, as Year 11 are all about to start their external examinations in the coming weeks. Marc is now a motivational speaker and speaks at events throughout the UK and USA about how he overcame his challenges to become an incredible gold-medal winning swimmer. Marc’s story and presentation were gripping, and the students all thoroughly enjoyed cheering him on in the Seoul Paralympic Games video he showed us.
BBC Radio Lincolnshire caught up with Marc last weekend for an interview which can be found on the BBC iPlayer.
