NK kick-off partnership with Lincoln City Sport and Education Trust.

NK Academy recently hosted the first match played by Lincoln City FC’s Sport and Education Trust BTEC Scholarship team. The BTEC programme was set up in September 2017 with NK Academy as the Education Partner. This means that students can take part in learning at the Academy in tandem with their BTEC Sports Scholarship programme at Sincil Bank.

In year one, the programme started with just seven students but has grown this year to the extent that the team has been able to join the EFL’s new Community and Education Alliance League and play against their counterparts from other clubs.

Last week, Lincoln City were beaten by a very strong Leeds United Foundation team coming from a more established programme which has been running for seven years.

This week NK hosts the game against Burton Albion. Later in the season, we will welcome the likes of Aston Villa, Sheffield United and Birmingham City to NK.

Our girls in the programme will also be playing small sided Futsal fixtures. They hope to be able to take part in full 11-a-side fixtures in future years as this programme grows.
