Gold Schools Award for North Kesteven Academy

Lots of exciting things have happened here since the start of term and the latest news is that we’ve become the only secondary school in the city to be awarded the top category Gold Caring for Schools Award!

The award is part of Caring2Learn – a research project run by Lincolnshire County Council and the Department for Education in partnership with University College London.

The project, which aims to improve educational outcomes for looked after children and young people in schools across Lincolnshire, has been piloted across 55 schools in the county – and we are the only secondary school to be recognised for the work it does to champion education.

All schools involved in the three-tier accreditation scheme have been working towards a gold, silver or bronze award and we’re absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the top ranking.

It’s so nice to be recognised for the caring, supportive and nurturing way in which we work with all our young people to ensure they feel safe and belong in school. We want all our students to have the confidence to go on to learn, be aspirational and achieve their full potential.

This news has come just ahead of the first of our next Open Evening taking place on 20th September and we’re really excited to showcase the academy to prospective students and parents!

Following the conclusion of the pilot, the project will be rolled out to all Lincolnshire schools. You can find out more about the Caring Schools Award here.
