Georgina in the Running for Sportswoman of the Year
We were thrilled to hear that a former student of ours, Georgina Adam, has been shortlisted in the Sportswoman of the Year category at this year’s Lincolnshire Sports Awards.
Our sprinting star Georgina is hoping to fend off competition from two other nominees who have been shortlisted for displaying an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level in the last year.
In the last 12 months, Georgina has been selected to represent Great Britain in athletics competitions on numerous occasions which have taken her up and down the country and around the world.
Georgina is thrilled to be named as a finalist in the Sportswoman of the Year category! She’s had a busy year representing Great Britain in the 200m and 4x100m in the under 20s age group, where she finished the season with four different championship titles.
She also won a bronze medal as part of the Great Britain 4x100m relay team at the World Junior Championships in Finland and signed to Puma!
The news of the award comes at an exciting time for Georgina, who left school this summer after finishing her A-levels and will be going to Loughborough University to train with Jonas Tawiah Dodoo while studying for the Applied Sports Science degree at Loughborough College.
Georgina has worked incredibly hard this year and to win the award would top off what has been a fantastic year for her! Everyone at NK Academy is so proud of Georgina – she’s a fantastic example of a great student, and an inspiration not only for our students but also for young people in Lincolnshire.
The awards, now in their 14th year, celebrate sportspeople, volunteers, coaches and clubs from across the county who have accomplished fantastic sporting achievements.
This year’s prestigious ceremony will take place on Thursday 1st November at the EPIC Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for her!
